The Alberta Media Fund (AMF) provides support to organizations and individuals involved in the Cultural Industries, which include screen-based media production,
book and magazine publishing and sound recordings.

Screen-Based Production Grant (SPG)
The Screen-Based Production Grant supports the creation of film and television production in Alberta. This improved grant
replaces the previous Alberta Production Grant. It offers up to 30 per cent of eligible production expenditures made in Alberta as well as a potential increase in the $5
million per-project cap of up to $7.5 million in funding per project. Applications are evaluated through a competitive process that awards points based on economic or
cultural criteria such as job creation, the use of Alberta cast and crew, the use of Alberta infrastructure such as the Calgary Film Centre, diversity, and the use of
Alberta subject matter.
Application intake is now open until 11:59 p.m. on April 2, 2018.

Interactive Digital Media Grant
The Interactive Digital Media Grant
supports Alberta’s digital media industry by providing a labour based grant to eligible companies, assisting organizations in expanding their workforce and
encouraging Alberta talent. Organizations may apply for up to $200,000 in funding.
Post-Production, Visual Effects and Digital Animation Grant
The Post-Production, Visual Effects and Digital Animation Grant assists
post-production companies with a labour based grant, encouraging activity in the post-production, visual effects and digital animation sector in Alberta.
Organizations may apply for up to $200,000 in funding.
Project Script Development Grant
The Project Script Development
Grant supports Albertan writers, directors and producers by providing financial assistance towards the creation of quality, marketable and commercial
production-ready projects and/or scripts. This grant is available for original projects with a broadcast length of 30 minutes or more. Applications must involve
participation of a writer and producer. The producer must be an Albertan resident.
